a nice chain of winning on early stages made indonesia a superior team. beated malaysia 5-1 and laos 6-0, then thailand by 2-1, making indonesia as a champion of group A in AFF cup 2010. with those series of winning, indonesia fought bravely against Philipines in the semifinal. with the title of group champion, indonesia won the bet. in semifinal, Philipines squad is strong, since they used 9 naturalized players from the europe. with the euforia of the supporters, indonesia won slightly 1-0 in both of the semifinal rounds held in Jakarta. with full optimism, indonesian people wished that indonesia can win the championship because in the final round they would face malaysia, who, in the qualifications round, was beaten 5-1. in fact, played in leg one at Bukit Djalil, malaysia, indonesia cannot play as good as usual since the malaysian supporters did some cheating activities, like using laser and fire some fireworks and threw it into the field, thus making indonesian players morale went down. as a result, indonesia was beaten 3-0 by malaysia on the first leg.
from the losses, indonesian team wished to strike malaysia back, since they're playing in their own country. it went all wrong. indonesia got conceded first thus making their morale down again because technically they then lost by 4-0. the hope began to rise when Nasuha scored and M. Ridwan made a counter strike. overall, indonesia lost 4-2. even so, they still happy with the result.
